My own career with Publix started in 1979, and after retiring in 1999, I began my career in financial planning.

When I retired, the ESOP and Profit Sharing were still separate programs. And after beginning the distribution process with no experience or professional guidance at the time, I soon realized how confusing it can be.

Because of this experience, shortly after taking my own distribution I began helping other Publix Associates plan for their Life After Publix. 23+ years later, I'm still passionate about helping people like you avoid the mistakes I made, and still see people making today.

Characteristics that define a financial advisor.

As a Publix Associate, I know choosing a financial advisor can be very confusing and there's no shortage of firms throughout the South actively seeking your business. I believe at least part of that confusion is because many in my industry have adopted the title "financial advisor".  A Financial Advisor is registered to offer advisory services through a Registered Investment Advisor (RIA) which is registered with the SEC.

According to Investopedia.com

"a true financial advisor should be a well-educated, credentialed, experienced, financial professional who works on behalf of his clients, as opposed to serving the interests of a financial institution". "Generally, a financial advisor is an independent practitioner who operates in a fiduciary capacity in which a client’s interests come before their own".

With that in mind, I am:

  • Credentialed CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional (see the CFP® section for more details)
  • Independent - we have no quotas, no proprietary products and we're investment product neutral
  • Planning focused - we offer true financial planning for a fee.
  • Process driven - we use a clearly defined process that has helped Publix Associates for over 2 decades.

I offer:

  • Holistic, fee based advice - I have the training and experience to look at your total financial picture and understand how all the pieces fit together.
  • Open architecture - the ability to provide all types of product solutions from thousands of providers.
  • Flight time - I've spent 1000's of hours over the last 20+ years helping Publix Associates retire.
  • I've been through the process - I understand Publix' paperwork, distribution process and potential mistakes
  • I understand you - the Publix culture, the history you have with the company, and how important your retirement is to you.

Doesn't it make sense to have someone with this type of knowledge and experience working for you!
